Larry Charles Jordan, Sr., of Mont Belvieu, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in Houston, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 13, 1956 in Beaumont, Texas to Charles Jordan and Ruby Jean Attaway Sanders. Larry graduated from Lumberton High School in 1974. He and his wife were residents of Beaumont before relocating to the Mont Belvieu area in 1980.

Larry worked for the City of Mont Belvieu for 35 years and was the Public Works Director. He was devoted to his job, was very proud being the public works director and would always say that he felt like the city was his own. Larry was always caring, genuine and an admirable mentor and a true friend to many. He constantly stayed so positive even after being diagnosed with cancer a year and a half ago.

Larry was a very devoted and loving husband, father, pawpaw and friend. He enjoyed anything that involved his family. Larry was an adventurous soul who enjoyed skydiving, motocross, mudding and just about anything to do with a UTV.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Craig and Gary Jordan; and his sister Debra Jordan. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 37 years, Terri Helton Jordan; his son Larry Jordan, Jr. and wife Tania of Mont Belvieu; his grandchildren Braden, Austin, Alex and Katelyn; his brother Daryl Jordan of Lumberton, Texas; and numerous extended family members and friends. Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6pm until 8pm on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street, Dayton, Texas.
