Connie Jo Vardell

July 22, 1941 ~ June 29, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Connie Jo Vardell, 75, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 in Baytown. She was born on July 22,1941 in Canadian, Texas to Joseph and Neva Day. Connie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was the wife of a Custom Wheat Harvester, and farmer, at the early age of 17. Connie loved working with her cattle and being outdoors. Around 1990, they decided to leave the farm and traveled together until the early 2000’s, with John her husband working various construction jobs throughout the U.S. They both cherished these years together and met many dear friends.

Connie was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You could always find her at their sporting and extra-curricular events growing up. Connie was one of their biggest supporters, and was always proud of her family.

Connie had numerous hobbies, some of which included her love of reading which she passed down to her children and grandchildren, playing cards and dominos. In her younger years, she loved singing in the church choir. But what she really enjoyed was basketball and football. She never missed March Madness, the Rockets or her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 46 years, John Earl Vardell; and her children John Alan Vardell and Dr. Kristan Vardell. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son Joe Vardell and wife Jackie of Anahuac; her daughter-in-law Vicki Vardell of Baytown; her grandchildren Alaina Hood and husband Allen of Mont Belvieu, Jennifer Kahla and husband Josh of Anahuac and Kasi Vardell of Baytown; her great-grandchildren Zoey and Ava Hood and Alex Kahla; and other loving relatives and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Jackie Doyle Vardell, Allen Hood, Josh Kahla, Steve Gillioz, Stan Martin and Matt Turner. Honorary pallbearer will be Roy Wickham.
