Adam Kyle Ortego, 31, of Dayton, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 20, 2017 in Channelview, Texas. He was born on March 5, 1986 in Houston, Texas to Gilbert Ortego, Jr. and Connie Small. Adam graduated from Channelview High School and was currently enrolled at the University of Houston where he was working on his Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He worked for the Channelview ISD for the past few years as a teacher’s aide.
Adam was a unique, sensitive and loving individual. He was a sports enthusiast, had ecliptic taste in music and enjoyed fishing. Adam will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Adam was preceded in death by his father; and his maternal grandparents. He is survived by his mother Connie Small and husband Lawrence of Kenefick; his sister Angela Walden and husband Jason of Oolagah, Oklahoma; his niece and nephew Michael and Kaitlyn Walden; his paternal grandparents Audrey and Gilbert Ortego, Sr. of Denham Springs, Louisiana; his aunt Jana Vajdak and husband Mike of Galveston; his uncle Jimmy Keys and wife Donna of Baytown; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2pm until 4pm on Friday, August 25, 2017 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street, Dayton, Texas. A memorial service will begin at 4pm in the chapel with Bro. Jeff Day officiating.
