Scherry Lynn Sturrock Coffman, 63, of Anahuac, Texas passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 1, 2017 in Liberty, Texas. She was born on June 20, 1953 in Anahuac, Texas to Earl Sturrock, Sr. and Hazel Goff Sturrock. Scherry graduated from Anahuac High School in 1970 and received her associate’s degree from Lee College. She worked for many years in accounting and bookkeeping for the oil industry.

Scherry was a daddy’s girl, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was full of life, never meeting a stranger, had an infectious laugh and was known mostly for her nurturing of others and for mothering everyone. Scherry enjoyed playing dominos every Wednesday morning with her closest friends, riding motorcycles and spending time with her daughter and her grandchildren. She also loved her dogs and had a passion for horses which she raised and raced in the early 80’s. Scherry also enjoyed listening to Willie’s Roadhouse and singing along to County and Western music. Nothing could ever slow her down, she lived life to the fullest. Scherry who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Scherry was preceded in death by her parents; her son Roger Dale Abshier, Jr.; her daughter Tracie Elizabeth Knuppel; and a grandson Curry Wade Fancher. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 21 years Joe Coffman of Anahuac; her daughters Stacie Abshier of Anahuac and Kristy Coffman of Baytown; her sons William Travis Knuppel of Hankamer, Kyle Coffman of Idabel, Oklahoma; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brothers Earl Sturrock, Jr. and wife Pat of Deer Park and Eddie Perez of Washington; numerous other loving relatives and friends; and all the children she had a hand in raising.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6pm until 8pm on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main Street, Anahuac, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Hankamer Community Fellowship, 2844 FM 1663 Road, Hankamer, Texas. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Anahuac Cemetery.
