Almeda Rose “Rosie” Ericson Renfro, 73, of Trinity, Texas and formerly of Dayton passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at her home. Rosie was born July 17, 1941 in Baytown, Texas. She graduated from High School in May 1959. She was a longtime resident of Dayton, where in the early years she worked as a reporter at the Dayton News while earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Lamar University. Rosie was employed as a teacher for 25 years at Dayton Independent School District. She was a member of the Chapel in the Pines Church, in Trinity, Texas.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Lela Mae Ericson and Brother David Ericson.
Rosie is survived by her loving husband of 28 years Ross Renfro; daughters: Deborah Collins, Paula Campbell, Becky Smith, Shelly Dailey and Tracie Bice; son Eddie Renfro and wife Mandy; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A visitation with the family will be on Monday, July 28, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Savage officiating.
Interment will follow in Sterling White Cemetery in Highlands.
