March 7, 1949 ~ June 21, 2018 (age 69) 69 Years Old

Tribute

Sheila Barrios Brandon departed this mortal life peacefully with her family by her side on June 21, 2018. Born in Houston, TX on March 7, 1949, Sheila was preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Doris Barrios, sister Nancy Jo Barrios, nephew Jared Brandon and stepmother Vernie Barrios. She married Don Brandon of Anahuac on August 18, 1972, whom she loved with all her heart through their 45 years of marriage.

Sheila enjoyed a long career with Anahuac National Bank and was always the bank’s Ambassador. Sheila served on the AISD School Board and was the Publicity Chairman for Texas Gatorfest. Sheila could always be counted on to serve in the community and her church. One of her proudest accomplishments was “Ms. B’s Pre-School”. Always a storyteller, her stories about her pre-schoolers were some of her best.

Dearly loved by her family, Sheila was affectionately known as BB by her grandkids and as “Ms. B” by others. It was her passion to instill in her children and grandchildren the joy of laughter and the importance of responsibility, character and humility. Sheila is remembered for her larger-than-life personality, colorful storytelling, love for entertaining and her ability to offer cherished advice.

Sheila attended Elementary and Jr. High in Liberty, graduated from East Chambers High School in Winnie and attended Stephen F. Austin University. Always a wealth of information, it was a well known fact that before there was “Google” there was “Ms. B”.

Sheila was very thankful that God blessed her with a long, rich and happy life. She is survived by her husband Don; three beloved children: Michelle Brandon; Mary Beth Bess and husband Brandon; Keller Brandon and wife Lauren; seven adored grandchildren: Austen, Ethan, Marshall, Walker, Mattie, Harlee Jo and Hayden; sister Geri Weaver and husband Gary; and brothers Barry Barrios, David Rogers and partner John, and Jack Rogers and wife Belinda; and a host of family and friends.
