Tribute

Morris “Jr.” Lee Fleischman, 95, of Hankamer, Texas, formerly of Tri-City Beach, passed away at his residence on Friday, July 12, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Jr. was born on July 9, 1924, in Houston, Texas to the late Morris and Addie Mary Jaeger. He was raised during the Great Depression on his family’s farm allowing for resources that others did not have at that time because his family had ample food sources such as livestock and vegetable gardens.

Jr. proudly served his country during WWII with the United States Army Air Corp. in the 388th Bomb Group. Later he received his diesel mechanic degree from the University of Houston. Jr. worked as a welder for J.M. Huber Corp. also known as Carbon Black in Baytown, Texas. He officially retired in 1984 from Carbon Black after 50 years of dedicated service.

Jr. and his late wife, Joyce Fleischman were active members of the Anahuac Assembly of God and he was a member of the 388th Bomb Group Association.

Jr. pursued many hobbies, some of which included his love of cattle, his tractors and motor homing around the country. He also loved spending time and working on his second home in New Braunfels. His greatest passion of all was spending time with his beautiful family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jr. was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother Flavia Stubbs; his beloved wife of 69 years, Joyce Crystal Montgomery Fleischman; his sons Ricky Lynn Fleischman and Monte Morris Fleischman; his granddaughter Wendy Staton; his great-great-grandson Kathan; his siblings Eva Caudle and Gordon Fleischman; and his nephews Craig Roberts and Charles Fleischman. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter Toni Mullins and husband Fred Johnson of Hankamer; his sister Ada Fulton of Brenham; his daughter-in-law Debbie Fleischman of New Braunfels; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren too many to name; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Jeromy Mayer, Marvin Mullins, Justin Johnson, Fred Johnson, Les Brockelman, Roy Brockelman, David Fleischman and Troy McManus.
