McKinley Taylor Jr.

Funeral services for McKinley Taylor, Jr. will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Israelite Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Holmes and Reverend Samuel Randolph officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. Committal service will follow in the Oakdale Community Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home.

McKinley, 64, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Sunday, September23, 2018 in Dayton, Texas. He was born on January 3, 1954 in Oakdale, to the union of Reverend McKinley Taylor, Sr. and Luedell Hawkins Taylor. McKinley was Baptist by faith and was a member of Israelite Missionary Baptist Church. After, Mr. Taylor graduated from high school, he went on to join the United States Air Force. Mr. Taylor, then, worked as a contractor as his career.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend McKinley Taylor, Sr. and Luedell; two sisters: Ora Mae Johnson and Hazel Moreaux; and his brothers, John Taylor and Floyd Taylor and his son, Mac McKinley Miles.

He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory: three daughters, Keriano Robinson of Oakdale, Shauntel Vassel of Savannah, Georgia, and LaShardae Williams of Opelousas; two sons, Marcus Taylor of Oceanview, Texas, and Issac Vassel, Sr. (Felicia) of Williston, North Dakota; two sisters, Maxine Randolph (Samuel) of Cordova, Tennessee and Lou Ella Bryant (Donald) of Oakdale; one brother, Wesley Jackson of Oakdale; eight grandchildren: Cornelius Davis, Jr., Kelis Robinson, Kimolin Davis, Kaleb Vassel, Isaiah Vassel, Issac Vassel, Jr., Christian Vassel, and Zayden Williams; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers to serve will be Corbin Johnson, Douglas Johnson, Derrell Moreaux, Sr., Danny Moreaux, Sr., Thomas Wright, and Clifton Jones. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Wesley Jackson, Samuel Randolph, Donald Bryant, Marcus Taylor, Cornelius Davis, Jr., Caleb Gilmore, and Issac Vassel, Sr.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at Israelite Missionary Baptist Church.
