Nell,
I am praying that God gives you sweet memories of Bill that will help you at this difficult time. Bill was one of the truly most caring, loving ,college friends that I had. He was unforgettable and friendly to everyone. He made me laugh... always. I think that's what I treasured the most about your husband as a friend. There was only one Bill. Heaven has gained a truly wonderful soul. Rita

Message from Sgt. Gordon Andrews, Chambers County Sheriff's Office
March 2, 2018 1:41 PM
To me, Bill was my life line for all the years he worked for The Chambers County Sheriff's Office as a "Dispatcher". He was a caring person on the radio, in person and up close. I always enjoyed going into the dispatch office when Bill was working.
Bill was an "overachiever" when at work due to the fact he would try to grab all the calls himself; even when he had a partner working with him. "OVERACHIEVER"
Bill was serious with his job but always had a "sense of humor" and a laugh to go along with it! I'm sure Bill had his favorites to work with, but I can say Bill Purser was definitely one of mine!
Dispatching the Calls for Service goes on today but the spirit and such a devoted person as Bill was, lingers in my mind... Bill has marked his time with the Chambers County Sheriff's Office, a short time in retirement, and now has received his ultimate reward. I don't know if there are Dispatchers in HEAVEN, but you can believe if there are, Bill Purser is up there grabbing and handling all the calls that come in.. "God Bless Bill Purser" and ALL the previous DISPATCHERS that had the privilege to work with him...
CONDOLENCES,
Gordon Andrews, Sgt. #160
Chambers County Sheriff's Office
