Tribute

Sarah Catherine Stephens, 72, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 6, 1947, in Bossier City, Louisiana to the late Dennis Ervin and Jewel Louise Cubley Wyatt.

Sarah moved to Dayton with her husband Rundy, in 1984 from Bossier City. She was dedicated in her faith and liked to attend Family Worship Church in Old River. Sarah was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sarah was an avid lover of all animals. She was especially fond of her own fur-baby, Spark Plug a chihuahua who has never spent a day without her. Sarah lived a very simple and happy life. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; her son Rundy Stephens, Jr.; and her sister Judy Pace. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 40 years, Rundy G. Stephens of Dayton; her son Mark Dewayne Alford and wife Christina of Crosby; her daughter Tonya Louise Alford Ramirez and husband Arron of Houston; her grandchildren Caleb Alford, Cameron Alford, Devin Alford, Taylor Alford, Carmen Alford, Chance Kent, Brooklynn Wagner and Skyler Wagner; her great-grandchildren Bryson Alford and Landon Alford; her brother Dennis Ervin Wyatt, Jr. of Houston; her beloved fur-baby Star; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Joe Green, Paul Brogdon, Caleb Alford, Cameron Alford, Devin Alford, and Chance Kent.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4pm until 7pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street in Dayton. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at Sterling Funeral Home, with Pastor Clay Duckworth officiating. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Palms Memorial Park in Dayton.
