Robert George Stewart

Robert “Bob” George Stewart, 77, of Dayton, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 27, 2018 in Pasadena, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 9, 1941 in Toronto, Ohio to the late Raymond and Mary Haynes Stewert. Bob graduated in 1958 from Toronto High School and he proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Bob also resided in the Sheldon area for 28 years. He worked as a plant operator in Channelview for more than 20 years before his retirement, was a local entrepreneur and a talented musician. Bob enjoyed playing pool and had a passion for music. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many who will be greatly missed.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Pat Stewart; and brother Larry Wilson. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his sons Raymond Stewart, Robbie Stewart, Tony Stewart and Bobby Strahan; his daughters Tonya Strahan and Sherry Lynn Wickham; his grandchildren Robbie Stewart, Jr., Logan Stewart, Chelsea Patterson, Taylor Stewart, Shaun Strahan, Chris Forshee, Payton Strahan, Kacie Stewart, Justin Strahan, Travis Stewart, Scott Wickham, Kelli-Lynn Wickham and Tyler Wickman; his numerous great-grandchildren; his siblings Patricia Scott, Gin Stimpert, David Wilson, Jimbo Wilson and Darlene Dees; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4pm until 8pm on Thursday, October 4, 2018 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Sterling Funeral Home. A graveside service and committal will follow at 3pm in Broaddus Cemetery in Broaddus, Texas.
