Tribute

Ricky  Glenn Horne, 68, formerly of Crosby, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, in Fulshear, Texas.  He was born on July 29, 1952, in El Dorado, Arkansas, to the late Perry and Jeanette Horne. Ricky graduated from El Dorado High School, class of 1970. Following lengthy employment at Lion Oil refinery, Rick committed to furthering his education at Louisiana Tech University in Rustin, Louisiana.  Rick successfully earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from the College of Engineering in 1987.   He added his insight, dedication, and knowledge in the Petroleum Field with teams at Tosco, Ventech, and Worley Parsons over the length of his career as a Chemical Engineer.  Rick gained exceptional respect within the industry due to the unique combination of his inside knowledge working as a refinery operator, and his Engineering degree.  His work took him abroad to both Russia and Indonesia.

Rick Horne and his late wife JC had made their home in Crosby, Texas, where he lived until 2010.  In his leisure time, Rick enjoyed his passion for music, reading books, trying unique restaurants, hunting, camping, and hanging out at the lake with family and friends.   A stroke in 2010 forced Rick into early retirement and he moved at this time to Fulshear, Texas to be near family.

Rick was a loving husband, stepfather, grandfather, and friend to many.  He was known for his exceptional memory, his love for knowledge, his funny never-ending stories, and continuous jokes.  If you knew Rick, you knew his stories. He kept everyone on their toes.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved wife J.C. Horne. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children Drew Carpenter, Rachele Fox, and Mica Farmer; his grandchildren Brad Massegee, Griffin Fox, Brooke Massegee, Parker Fox, Sullivan Fox, Ryann Fox, Quinn Farmer, Chandler Farmer, Sean DeLoach, and Jacob Carpenter; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank the caretakers that helped Rick over the past 11 years which include both private care nurses and the staff at Larry’s Lakehouse 2.  You made a huge difference in his independence, his physical wellbeing, and keeping his mind sharp.  Thank you for loving on him, laughing with him, and nurturing him.  You are Angels here on Earth.  Rick cherished each of you.
