Peggy Rae Howard

Peggy Rae Howard, 91, of Anahuac, Texas, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019, at her home in Anahuac. She was born on March 27, 1928, in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Lynn Bennett and Effie Mae Bennett Hopkins. Peggy graduated from Sand Springs School in Oklahoma.

Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews dearly. Peggy pursued many interests some of which included reading, bird watching and traveling. She loved taking day trips anywhere she was able with her daughter. Peggy was able to enjoy and see so much of Texas on her special trips. Her favorite hobby of all was just spending time with her family whom she adored dearly. Peggy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 25 years J.B. Howard; her son Lance Newton; her sisters Tracey Templeton and Barbara Lee; and her brother Lynn Bennett Hopkins, Jr. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters Lindsay Davis of Anahuac and Leslie Lenard of Anahuac; her grandchildren Heather Malyk and husband Jason, Natalie Brandt, Christian Newton, Erin Grady, William Moore and wife Ashley; her great-grandchildren Maxx Malyk, Maddie and Dillon Brandt and Finn Twigt; her sister Frances Patterson of Shawnee, Oklahoma; her baby brother Jimmy Neal Coffman and wife Brenda of Florida; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Private services for Peggy will be held at a later date.
