Patrick “Pat” Henry Badgett, Jr., of Dayton, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 13, 2021 at his home. He was born on September 28, 1931, in Dayton, Texas, to the late Oma Lee Alexander Badgett and Patrick Henry Badgett, Sr. Pat graduated from Crosby High School, class of 1949. He proudly served his country with the United States Navy Seabees in the South Pacific Theater. He worked as a mechanic, and was used as a forger of sorts to find things, specializing in logistics and procurement.
Pat retired from Atlantic Richfield, where he worked in various capacities from operator to area superintendent for more than 28 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Dayton, where he faithfully served as a Deacon for many years.
Pat pursued many hobbies, some of which included hunting, fishing, reading, working with cows, and vegetable gardening. His favorite hobby of all was the cherished time spent with his family and grandchildren. Pat was committed to attending most of his grandchildren’s ball games.
Pat was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Bobbie Dee (Missy) and husband Earl McCoy and brother Morris (Billy) Badgett. Pat leaves behind to cherish his loving memory, his beloved wife of 67 years, Joyce Harris Badgett of Dayton; his children Patricia June Ressler and husband Donald “Rusty” of Palestine, Texas and Matt Badgett and wife Theresa of Dayton; his grandchildren Robert Ryan Ressler and wife Brooke, Richard Ray Ressler and wife Laura, Randall Ross Ressler and wife Susan, Jonathan Matthew Badgett and wife Laura, and Bethany Theresa Credeur and husband Cory; his eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
