Marshall “Wayne” Green, 74, of Dayton, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at his home. He was born on July 16, 1946 in Salem, New Mexico to the late George Braxton and Julia Helena Carpenter Green. Wayne graduated from Hot Springs High School, class of 1964. After graduating, he proudly served his country in the United States Army as a military cook during the Vietnam Conflict.

 

Wayne worked doing inspections as a welding engineer for more than 30 years with Brown and Root and later worked at Catsi until his retirement. In 2016, he received his Doctoral Degree in Welding Engineering, something he was extremely proud of.

 

Wayne was a member of the Line Camp Cowboy Church in Devers and was a former member of the Lyons Club International. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Wayne was an exceptional cook and a wonderful mentor to so many. He was also a jokester who loved nothing more than to pick at people, “Oh what a man!”

 

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Henry Green and Linda Fuqua; his children Nadine Green and Anthony Green; and his cousins Roy Green and Shirley Smith. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory, his wife Beatrice “Nadean” Whitecraft Green; his children Robert Mitchell, Amber Smith and husband Wayne, J.R. Bryant and wife Veronica, Wendy Byrne and husband Bob, Eugina Bryant, Sandra Kay Babcock, George Elmer Andregg and Michell Hoffman; his grandchildren Dustin Andregg, Chrystal Newbury, J.D. Coleman and wife Nikki, Marshall Green, Gabbi Hoffman, Paige Hoffman and Krystal Coleman; his numerous great-grandchildren; his siblings Charles Green and wife Janet and Cathy Strickland; his nieces and nephews Marvin Smith and wife Sheila, Pamela Crawford Bobbye Green and husband Dino, Chris Martin and wife Samantha, Ellie Kennedy and husband Joe and many more nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

 

A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at 10:30am, on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at the Line Camp Cowboy Church, 711 East, US-90, Devers, TX 77538, with Pastor Harland Strother, officiating.
