Marilyn Ann Wasson

Marilyn Ann Wasson, 77, of Hankamer, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in Baytown, Texas. She was born on July 21, 1940 in Galveston, Texas to Johnney and Florence Lee. Marilyn was a graduate of Ball High School in Galveston.

Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was a member of the Abiding Word Lutheran Church, where she was also active with the Ladies Auxiliary. On November 4, 1958, Marilyn married Kenneth E. Wasson.

Marilyn was a great mom, always there for her children and grandchildren. She was sweet, caring and very loving to everyone around her. Always wanting to do what she could for others. Marilyn was fond of music and enjoyed playing the piano. She was also the family historian and full of knowledge. Marilyn will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Kenneth E. Wasson; her parents; her children Kevin Wasson and Marlene Wasson; and her brother Jerry Lee. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son Keith Wasson and wife Lisa of Sheldon, Illinois; her grandchildren Promise Joseph and Andrew Wasson; her great-grandchildren Zachery, Bradley and Jeremy (J.); and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, August 10, 2017 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street, Dayton, Texas, with Pastor Ben Schone officiating. Marilyn will be laid to rest with her husband and children in Abshier Cemetery located in Devers, Texas.
