Lois McDaniel

Lois Virginia McDaniel, 83, of Anahuac, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 20, 1934 in Newport, Arkansas to William Conway Barnes and Mary Zella Myers-Barnes. 

Lois has been a resident of Chambers County since 1976 after she and her husband JC McDaniel relocated from Arkansas. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many, who was dedicated to her family. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and canning but what she enjoyed most was having tea parties with her great-grandchildren. 

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband James “JC” McDaniel; her daughter Regina Gail McDaniel; and her brother Jerry Barnes. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons Ron McDaniel and wife Brenda of Anahuac and Don McDaniel of Hankamer; her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings Jim Barnes and wife Annie of Missouri and Peggy West of Arkansas; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. 

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be John Pfeiffer, Cullin Broussard, Kyle McDaniel, Logan McDaniel, James McDaniel and Stetson Defusto. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Broussard, Sr., Christopher Broussard, Jr., Kevin Defusto and Danny McDaniel. 

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5pm until 7pm on Monday, January 29, 2018 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main Street, Anahuac, Texas. A graveside service and committal will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in Anahuac Cemetery.
