Kevin Scott Sowell, 40, of Dayton, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, in Kenefick, Texas. He was born on July 9, 1979, in Dayton, Texas, to the late Kevin Leslie and Denise Laird Sowell. Kevin graduated from Tarkington High School in 1998 and was working as a construction contractor.
Kevin was an avid outdoorsman and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also liked cooking, drinking, barbequing and fish frys. Kevin loved spending time with his children and grandson. Although most found him to somewhat arrogant in his ways, he was also funny, quick-witted and outgoing. Kevin had always approached life at full speed and lived it with no regrets. He will be missed tremendously and remembered dearly by family and friends alike.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandparents John and Shirley Ann Sowell, who raised him. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Kay Kay Sowell; his children Krissy Moss, Kassidy Dodd, Krispen Sowell, and Kayden Sowell; his grandson Alan Self; his siblings Jennifer Moore and Corey Covin; his cousin Candace DeLeon; his uncles Chris Sowell and Don “Woo” Webb; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held at 2pm on Friday, January 24, 2020, in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street in Dayton, with Pastor Travis Thornton officiating. A graveside inurnment will immediately follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton.
