Kami Nicole Kabernik, 26, a loving daughter, sister, angel and friend to many, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 7, 2017 in Dayton, Texas. She was born on August 14, 1991 in Baytown, Texas to Reece Bundrick and Althea Kovar McCary. Kami attended Spring High School where she participated in the choir and ROTC.

Kami was a very independent and outgoing young woman who had recently started working as a bartender at Rooster’s in Dayton. She was an avid pool player and was a member of the American Pool Player’s Association.

Kami was a courageous person who never met a stranger and was loved by everyone. She was always the life of the party. Kami’s heart was large, and she would do anything for anyone. She had the voice of an angel who loved nothing more than to sing. Kami’s favorite song to sing was One and Only by Adele. She was a gifted singer who once tried out for The Voice. Kami also loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting.

Kami was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents Theresa and Alton King; her paternal grandmother Nancy Bundrick; her paternal grandmother Virginia Lindsey; and her uncle David Ray Patzold. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her mother Althea McCary and husband James of Dayton; her father Reece Bundrick of League City; her siblings Taylor Bundrick of Littleton, Colorado, Ashton McGary and husband Ben of Atascocita, Jay Bundrick of Dayton and Madison McCary of Dayton; her maternal grandparents Alta and Al Kovar of Dayton; her paternal grandfather Sam Bundrick of Palestine, Texas; her niece Iliena Brienn Nicole Bundrick; and a numerous other loving relatives and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Albie Kovar, Jr., Alton Kovar, Lance Jones, Andy McCoy, Jay Bundrick and Taylor Bundrick. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Brown, Dalton Farmer, Jr., Dalton Farmer, III, Wade Farmer, Alec Farmer, Hayden Farmer, Kole McCoy, Kaleb McCoy, Kasey McCoy and Doug Sherlock

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6pm until 8pm on Monday, December 11, 2017 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street, Dayton, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Sterling Funeral Home. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Palms Memorial Park in Dayton.
