Tribute

Jolene Reedy Oldham, affectionately known by most as “Mimi”, 77, of Wallisville, TX, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 10, 1942, in Freeport, Texas to the late Joe and Marion Waguespack Reedy. Jolene graduated from Brazosport High School in 1962.

Jolene moved from Freeport to Wallisville in 1980 to be with her husband Cecil “Popeye” Oldham. She was a dedicated and hardworking business owner. Jolene owned and operated a parts and mechanic shop, provided mowing services and even ran a wrecker business for several years. She and Popeye began raising cattle and ranching until 2017 when they focused on their retirement. Jolene was an avid lover of all animals.

Jolene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was a nurturer who loved nothing more than taking care of others. Jolene was very close to her granddaughter Taylor Oldham Wilcox whom she raised as her own daughter. She enjoyed being a Mimi to her grandchildren and taking care of Popeye and her family. Jolene will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jolene was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Jimmy Alexander; her niece Katie Coulter; her mother-in-law M.D. Oldham; her sister-in-law Jean McKey; and her brother-in-law Lonnie McKey. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 32 years, Popeye Oldham of Wallisville; her daughters Kelly Ross of Wallisville and Taylor Oldham Wilcox and husband Curt of Anahuac; her grandchildren Aaron Watts of Fort Worth; her great-grandchildren Ramsey Cecile Wilcox and Hill Wilcox; her sister Sue Coulter and husband Joe of Jones Creek; her special nieces and nephew Cori Milner and Tommy, Amy Coulter, Tammy McKey, Kathy Harrell and husband Robert and Lonnie “Dump” McKey and wife Konna; all those that called her Mimi; Paige Sherman; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
