Joe L. Valigura,

Joe L. Valigura, Sr., longtime resident of the Anahuac and Wallisville area, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017 in his home in Wallisville, Texas. He was born on January 6, 1926 in East Bernard, Texas, to Paul and Mary Bozek Valigura. Joe attended high school in East Bernard before joining the United States Marines. He was a Corporal in the Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. 

Joe had many hobbies some of which included crafting and woodworking. He worked as a superintendent for many years in the pipeline industry with the Tenneco Company. 

Joe married his high school sweetheart, Alma Ann Sliva Valigura; they were married for 64 years. Alma and Joe belonged to the Catholic Church. 

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Alma Valigura; his daughter Melissa Valigura; and his sisters Helen Matula and Mary David. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son Joe Valigura, Jr. and wife Linda of Wallisville; his granddaughter Tip Kromloy of Wallisville; and a host of extended family members and friends. Joe will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1pm until 3pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home located at 1201 S. Main Street in Anahuac. Funeral services will begin following the visitation at 3pm. A graveside service and committal will immediately to follow in Anahuac Cemetery.
