Jean Ann Chelette

Jean Ann Chelette, 73, of Baytown, Texas passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 9, 1944 in Crowley, Louisiana to Jake and Evelyn Smith Johnson.

Jean was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed reading and playing computer games such as Solitaire and Mahjong. Jean was a great cook and the sweetest person who was very involved with family and grandchildren.

r was an active member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Baytown and a past member of White Park Church of Christ and Goose Creek Church of Christ. She was a longtime volunteer of the Baytown Literacy Program, DARE and the Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni. Jean who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her lovingly g husband of 50 years Harold Chelette; and her brothers Don R. Johnson, Sr., John C. Johnson and Isadore Duhon, Jr. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons Russell E. Chelette, James R. Chelette and Wendell B. Chelette all of Baytown; her 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; her numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A graveside service and committal will be held at 2pm on Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Palms Memorial Park, Dayton, Texas.
