Jack & Angela Smalley

December 22, 2017

Jack Randall Smalley, 63 and Angela Jean Lee Smalley, 61, of Liberty, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 22, 2017 at their home in Liberty. Jack was born on June 15, 1954 in Liberty, Texas to Charles Jack “C.J.” and Hazel Irene Tidwell Smalley. He graduated from Hull Daisetta High School in 1972 and attended Lamar College in Beaumont, Texas. Angela was born on March 10, 1956 in Louisiana to Horace Eugene and Eva Joyce West Lee. She worked with her mom for many years as a realtor. They were residents of Liberty County for 21 years.

Jack and Angela were childhood sweethearts that were introduced in their teens by a family member of Angela’s. They were married for 40 years and had one daughter, Amanda, whom they claimed to be their greatest accomplishment. They were a very loving and devoted couple, parents and grandparents who rarely did anything without the other. They were former members of the Bethel Assembly of God in Liberty.

Jack loved sports and race cars, anything fast and with speed. He enjoyed working on them and building them with his dad. Jack’s favorite car was his 1965 Mustang. Angela loved plants, gardening, crafting and shopping. She had a green thumb and treated her plants as if they were her babies.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother; his sister Sherry Brown; and nephew Randall Brown. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his father C.J. Smalley and wife Ima of Hull, Texas; and his brother Glenn Smalley. Angela was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother Scott Lee and wife Rhonda. They both leave behind to cherish their memory, their loving daughter Amanda “Nikki” Linn and husband Alvin; their grandchildren Gavin and Kylie Linn; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
