Harold Lane Lummus, 69, of Alvin, Texas passed away on Friday, September 7, 2017 in Dayton, Texas. He was born on November 7, 1947 in Pasadena, Texas to Doyle and Melba Howard Lummus.
Harold was a loving and devoted husband, father, poppa to his grandchildren, brother and friend. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family and his grandchildren. Harold was quick witted, full of laughter and had a snappy sense of humor. Harold who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 48 years Bernice Lummus; his brothers Richard Doyle Lummus and Walter “Cotton” Allen Lummus; and his great-grandchildren Kynedi and Heidi Crunk; He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter Sherry Stephens and husband Jim of Dayton; his sons Terry Lummus and wife Wendy of Alvin and Tony Lummus of Dayton,Texas; his grandchildren Ashley Green and husband John, Melanie Crunk and husband Josh, Kelsey Lummus, Chelsey Lummus, Presley Lummus, Tyler Lummus and Taylor Lummus; his great-grandchildren Tyler and Hunter Green, Blakelee Prince, Bristol Green, Mason Crunk and Emerson Lummus; his brothers Curtis Frank Lummus and wife Anna and Patricia Doherty and husband Louis; daughter-in-law Tabitha Lummus of Wichita, Kansas; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6pm until 8pm on Monday, September 11, 2017 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street, Dayton, Texas. A celebration of Harold’s life will be held at 11am on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Sterling Funeral Home. A private interment will be held in Palms Memorial Park in Dayton, Texas.
