Tribute

Glynda Gambini, 76, of Thornton, Texas, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021, in Groesbeck, Texas. She was born on June 19, 1945, in Liberty County, Texas, to the late Hubert and Wilma Stubbs Carouthers. Glynda graduated from High Island High School, the class of 1963. She was proudly crowned the Homecoming Queen that same year. Glynda was a member of Central Baptist Church in Thornton and a former member of the Winnie Pentecostal Church. She was a devoted Christian and dedicated in her faith to the Lord. In 2010, after Hurricane Ike, she and her husband Benny sought out land in the Thornton area. A couple of years later, she and her beloved husband made it their home. Her days working were spent in the home health care industry and within the school cafeteria feeding students.

Glynda was a woman who pursued many interests, some of which included a love of fishing and watching True Crime television shows. She was an avid reader and enjoyed downtime with a good book. Glynda had a feisty personality, mixed with a bit of firecracker and Texas tornado. She had the ability to naturally draw people in. Glynda was a strong independent woman who was outspoken but caring at the same time. She was also a great judge of character. Glynda was an avid animal lover, who was always caring and compassionate with them all.

Glynda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son Richard Harrington. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory, her husband of thirty-six years Benny of Thornton; her sons Rodney Harrington and wife Rachel of Anahuac, Texas, and Christian Gambini of Thornton, Texas; her daughter-in-law Rosalie Harrington of Oletha, Texas; her grandson Jace Harrington; her siblings Wilbur Carouthers and wife Brenda of Fannett, Texas; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
