Francis Semien, 95, of Dayton, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 17, 2018. She was born on November 17, 1922, in China, Texas.
Francis was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress for Billy Dolle at Dayton Cleaners for several years. She has been an active member since 1958 of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Francis enjoyed gardening, quilting and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Francis was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Clifton Semien; her sister Toe Guidry; and her brothers Wilburn and William Guidry; and a sister. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son Clifford Semien and wife Debra of Tyler, Texas; her nephew Leroy Semien of Beaumont; her nieces Betty Simmons of Houston and Cherly Simien of California; her grandchildren Teffany Tones, Brandy Tones, Jessica Semien, La’Shonda Baldwin, Earlrieka William, Jackie Semien and Melvin Lavinge and wife Lekeida; her 28 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; special and dear friend Makalia Baldwin; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6pm until 8pm on Sunday, March 25, 2018, in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street, Dayton, Texas. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10am on Monday, March 26, 2018, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 804 S. Cleveland Street in Dayton, with Fr. Ryzard Zawadzki as the Celebrant. Rite of Committal will immediately follow in Palms Memorial Park Cemetery in Dayton, Texas.
