Edna Mae Blasdel, 78, lifelong resident of Mont Belvieu, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017 in Anahuac, Texas. She was born on April 28, 1939 in Liberty, Texas to Arthur Joseph and Nellie Emily Reeves LaFour.

Edna worked in food service for Barbers Hill ISD for 20 years and retired in 2003. She was an avid Barbers Hill sports fan and loved the girls high school basketball, rarely missing any games. Besides her Barbers Hill sports addiction, Edna also enjoyed playing slot machines and bingo. She was an avid baker and her family reaped the benefits of her awesome pies and cakes. Her fried chicken was the best and was requested by family members for special occasions and get togethers. Edna loved vacationing with her family and never missed an opportunity to go on a cruise or vacation in the Hill Country.

Edna was a devoted wife, mother, Memaw, sister and friend to many. She was extremely dedicated to her family and her grandchildren. Edna will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Francis Lee Blasdel; and her sister Shirley Hracek. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 59 years John Blasdel; her daughter Melissa Rollo and husband Gary of Mont Belvieu; her sons Joseph Blasdel of Mont Belvieu and Virgil Blasdel and wife Danita of Anahuac; her grandchildren Lori Rollo and husband Ryan Gonzales, Kelli Rollo, Joshua Blasdel and wife Danielle, Morgan Blasdel, Rush Herrington and Payton Herrington; her great-grandchildren Jaxsyn Blasdel, Kevin Fain, John Gonzales and Kynlee Fain; her siblings Arthur Lee LaFour and wife Kathi, Nelene Satcher and husband Dale, Dorothy Pilkenton and husband Bob, Ronnie LaFour and wife Kay and Danny LaFour; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
