Tribute

Doris Faye McIntosh, 89, of Devers, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018, in Baytown, Texas. She was born on March 10, 1929, in Watonga, Oklahoma to William and Vera Hinder Kelly. A resident of Liberty, County since 1960, Doris retired after 25 years from Brookshire Brothers in Liberty where she worked as a cashier trainer. 

Doris was a devoted, nurturing and Godly woman. Always active in her faith and church, she always made sure her children were in church growing up. Doris loved to read and enjoyed baking sweets for herself and others. But what she enjoyed most was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 37 years, Duane McIntosh; her siblings Leota Scott, Virginia Ingmire, Irene Kelly, Laverne Kelly, Buddy Gene Kelly and W.O. Kelly; her great-grandson Christopher Hampton; her father and mother-in-law, Duff and Lula McIntosh; her son-in-law David Hebert; and her daughter-in-law Sharon McIntosh. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Burl McIntosh, Vicki Hebert, Kathi McIntosh, Tommy McIntosh and wife Kim; her grandchildren Kelly Hammons and husband Allen, Duane Hampton and wife Kathi, Daree Hampton, Jackie Goodwin and husband Johnny, Kara Orona and husband Gabe, Leah McCants, Jamie Russell and wife Lesli, Matt Casey and wife Andi and Kaitlin McIntosh; her great-grandchildren Josh, Blake, Savannah, Kyliegh, Ryan, Dillion, Emily, Logan, London, Ireland, Sydney, Sarah, Hannah, Shelby, Asa, Avery and Leah; her sister Carrol Lee; her sister-in-law Bonnie Kelly; her numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and other loving relatives and friends. 

Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 1pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street, Dayton, Texas. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2pm with Tim Hanley officiating. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Abshier Cemetery in Devers. The family will gather at Tommy and Kim’s house in Devers, Texas after the services.
