Donna Rhnea Broughton

Friday morning on May 24, 2019, Donna Rhnea Broughton ended her fight against cancer at the age of 48. Donna was born on April 15, 1971, in Baytown, Texas to Darrell Owens, Linda Barker, and Robby Hisler. On April 20, 1996, she married the love of her life, David Alan Broughton and together they raised three children, Serrina Kay, Alison Mae, and James Alan.

Donna had a love for the beach and gathering seashells to create wind chimes, door wreaths, and anything else possibly imaginable. Donna only ever really worked for her dad, Robby, helping run the kitchen at Grandma’s Diner or making runs to the supplies stores as long as she could bring her kids with her. When she wasn’t working, she was a stay at home mom. Her children were her whole world. She loved each of them hard and she loved her grandbaby, Tevyn Naomi ever harder!

Donna was a quick-witted firecracker, she had a smile and laugh that could brighten up any room. She was kind, caring, and would give anyone the shirt off her back if she needed to. Donna was a loving daughter, wife, mother, Nonna, sister, and friend.

Donna was preceded in death by her grandparents Madonna and Frank Barker, Lenard Owens, Jr., Edna and Robert Hisler; her father-in-law Jim Broughton; her brother-in-law Steve Broughton; and special friends Julie Wiggins and Necie Chenall. Leaving to cherish her memories are her parents Linda and Robby Hisler and Darrell Owens; her husband David Broughton; her grandmother Jerry Mae Owens; her daughters Serrina Broughton (Tevin Williams), and Alison King (Devin); her son James Broughton; her granddaughter Tevyn Williams; her brother Rodney Hisler (Salina), her nieces Cortney and Alex Hisler, Kristina and Taylor Dunigan; her special friends Vivian Adams and Hope Peña; and many other friends and family members.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 1pm on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main Street, Anahuac, Texas 77514.
