Curtis Dee Morris

August 24, 1948 ~ May 28, 2017 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Curtis Dee Morris, 68, of Smith Point, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 28, 2017 in Anahuac, Texas. He was born on August 24, 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas to A.B. and Norma Oney Morris. Curtis proudly served his county in the United States Army during the Vietnam era transporting ammunition. He was a life member of the VFW Post #5621 in Liberty, Texas. Curtis was very proud of his dedication to the Army and being a Veteran.

Curtis and his loving wife of 41 years have been residents of the Anahuac area for 30 years. He worked as a truck driver for most of his career and was currently working for Quikrete out of Liberty.

Curtis was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved nothing more than to spend time with his family and his twelve grandchildren. Curtis would show his grandchildren how to play on a tractor or teach them how to make knots on a rope. Whatever his grandchildren wanted to do became Paw Paw’s hobbies. Curtis will be missed by all who knew him.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Yvonne and Juanita Johnson, Earl, Richard and Frances Childress; and his grandson Matthew Morris. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife Cherry Morris; his daughter Christina Hart of Tomball; his sons Chris Morris of the Highlands and Clayton Morris and wife Olivia of Tomball; his grandchildren Breanna Hernandez, Natalie and Hayes Hart, Emma Ehlert, Cameron and Caden Morris, Alexander Eelbode, Joshua, Hannah, Christian, Grace and Asher Morris; his great-granddaughter Mary Jane Hernandez; his siblings W.F. Childress, Brenda Herrin and Liddie Childress; his close friend Henry Pilgreen; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
