Tribute

It is with great sadness that the family of Arturo Mares announces his passing after 4 years of PAP (pulmonary alveolar proteinosis), on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at the age of 45 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 20 years, Rosaura; and his children Arturo A., Diego and Alan Mares. Arturo will also be fondly remembered by his parents Federico and Leonor; his siblings Marcela and husband Jesus, Jose Luis and wife Carmela, Jesus and wife Norma, Guadalupe and husband Rogelio, Juan Manuel, Carmen and husband Joel, Lucy and husband Jesus and Javier. He was preceded in death by his brother Federico Mares.

Arturo was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, brother, and friend to many. He enjoyed most of all, spending time with his wife and boys. Arturo liked dancing, working outdoors, walking and exercising with his kids. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Arturo and his family were active members of Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Anahuac. He loved scriptures and listening to gospel music.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers are Jose Muniz, Juan Antonio Sustaita, Ben Beaoui, Eduardo Muniz, Cristobal Hernandez, and Lydio Avalos. Honorary pallbearers will be Juan Romero, Antonio Davila, Jose Rangel, and Luciano Palacios.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3pm until 6pm on Sunday, May 5, 2019, in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main Street in Anahuac, with a Rosary to be recited at 5pm. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 3pm on Monday, May 6, 2019, at Our Lady of Light Catholic Church, 2207 S. Main Street, Anahuac, with Stephen McCrate as the Celebrant. A Rite of Committal will immediately follow in Anahuac Cemetery.
