Argelia Z. Dickerson

December 13, 1942 ~ March 1, 2023 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Tribute

Argelia Z. Dickerson, 80, of Vidor, Texas, passed away quietly on Monday, March 20, 2023, in Mont Belvieu, Texas. She was born on December 13, 1942, in Mexico, to the late Matias and Elva Juarez Zavala.

Argie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to so many. She loved her family, especially her children, and was very proud of all their accomplishments. Argie was fond of children and would often care for many of them throughout the neighborhood as if they were her own. When she was not watching children, she worked as a clerk at Robin’s Seafood and Grocery in Vidor, forming friendships with so many along the way.

Argie pursued many interests, some of which included her passion for floral gardening and sewing. When she was able, she enjoyed spending time at the casinos. Argie was caring, affectionate and outgoing. She never met a stranger, would lend an ear when needed, and was the best at offering advice in a time of need. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Argie was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Carolina Casares; and her brother Matias “JR” Zavala. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory, her children Robert Casares, Linda Hallman and husband Henry, Veronica Damon, and Pete Casares and wife Diane; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings Tony Zavala, Henry Zavala, Belinda Zavala, Laura Zavala, and Norma Zavala; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
