Alvin Jack Talley

Alvin Jack Talley, 87, formerly of Dayton, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2018 in Baytown, Texas. He was born on September 28, 1930 in Baytown, Texas to Alvin Dennis and Gladys Davis Talley. Alvin proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Navy. He was a chemical plant operator and retired from Lubrizol after 32 years of employment.

Alvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to many. He enjoyed football, chewing tobacco and most of all, he loved his family.

Alvin was preceded in death by her parents; and his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara Jean Chandler Talley. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter, Twila LaBuff and husband Tracy of Dayton; sons, Denny Talley and wife, Kathleen of Mont Belvieu,  Lafe Talley and wife, Angela Talley of Deer Park; his sisters Lauren “Sissy” Mills and husband Marvin of Floresville and Patricia Featherstone and husband Ed; his brother Dennis “Brother” Talley of Floresville; grandchildren, Jarett Talley, Candace Miller, Anna Talley, Ryder Talley, Tonya Strickland-Louvier and husband Chris, Aaron Strickland and wife, Brittany and Casey Strickland; great-grandchildren, Flauren, Tinsley, Haley and Grayson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, March 12, 2018 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street, Dayton, Texas, with Bro Jeff Day officiating. A graveside service and committal will follow at 1pm in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown.
