Tammy Ruth McManus

November 21, 1964 ~ May 15, 2017 (age 52) 52 Years Old

Our flag of Stars and Stripes hangs a little lower today, for our beloved Tammy Ruth has finally flown away.

Tammy Ruth “Aunt T” McManus, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, May 15, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Born on November 21, 1964, to loving parents, V.R. and Margie Ruth McManus, Tammy was a unique and caring individual who never let her limitations stop her from having a friendly disposition and sassy attitude.

Tammy began her life in Christ in 1982, when she accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior at Eminence Baptist Church. She was a proud member of the Anahuac High School Alumni Class of 1984 (she’d show off her class ring to anyone), a phenomenal Special Olympics Track Star (with medals to prove it), and a fantastic John Wayne historian. However, her favorite accomplishment was being the most patriotic supporter of her father and the United States Marine Corps. SEMPER FI.

Aunt T. was preceded in death by her parents, V.R. and Margie; and her precious nephew Starett McManus Burk.

Aunt T.  is survived by her siblings: Patti McManus Humber, Robbie McManus, Tracey Burk and husband Donnie. She is also survived by the true joys of her life, her nephews and nieces: Will Humber and wife Jess, J.D. Humber and wife Allison, Stoney Burk and wife Rylee, Stetson Burk, Laurel McManus, Steely Burk, Kate Laskoskie and husband Colton, and Marlee McManus; and her great-nephews and great-niece: Keaton Humber, Abigail Humber, Everett Humber, and Kace Laskoskie. She is also survived by two dear aunts: Eula "Aunt Boo" Tinkle and husband Doug, Joyce McManus; and many cousins.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5pm until 7pm on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, in Anahuac, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Anahuac, Texas. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Worthy Cemetery in Moss Bluff, Texas. Please dress in PATRIOTIC attire!

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Stoney Burk, Stetson Burk, Keaton Humber, Colton Laskoskie, Travis Browder, Neal Boles, Greg Edwards and George Harthcock.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Starett McManus Burk Memorial Scholarship Fund at Anahuac National Bank, Drawer N, Anahuac, Texas 77514.
