Robert “Bob” Leo Pilkenton, Sr., 72, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017 in Baytown. He was born on April 30, 1945 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Charley and Mamie Martin Pilkenton. Bob graduated in 1963 from Sam Houston High School in Houston. He proudly served his county as a United States Naval Signalman during the Vietnam War, using morse code to signal other ships. Bob worked as Houston Fireman after his service in the Navy. He retired from the Houston Fire Department after 37 years of dedicated service. Bob was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God, where he also served as a board member and a musician. He would often mentor the upcoming church musicians and instruct them whenever he was able. They all looked up to him as a talented musician and servant of the church. Bob thoroughly enjoyed cabinet making and was considered a master craftsman. He also loved to read, play music and enjoyed playing a round of golf with Gary Rollo and his niece Kelli Rollo. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Bob will be laid to rest with his beloved fur baby Sophie, who passed away the day after his death. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 27 years Dorothy LaFour Pilkenton; his children Rob Pilkenton, Jr. of Houston; his daughter Denice Malone and husband Mike of Lewisville, Texas; his grandchildren Megan Donaldson and husband Brandon, Caleb Pilkenton, Olivia Malone, Phoebe Malone and Lydia Malone; his siblings Terry Pilkenton and wife Sandi and Jo Ann Montez; his special nieces Kelli and Lori Rollo; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
