This morning, for some unknown reason, I thought of Mrs. Dye. I call her that because she was my 5th grade teacher in the ‘60s, at Anderson Elem. she started out that year as Miss Heffington. While teaching us cursive writing, she wrote on the chalkboard, “James David Dye” to teach us “J” and “D” in cursive. Many of my classmates and I attended her wedding, I believe at South Main Baptist Church, in Houston. I guess it was sometime the next year, even though no longer in her class, there was a baby shower for her and we brought her little baby gifts. She did amazing, kind, and wonderful things for us in that class. I loved her and she was one of my very favorite teachers. I am now 63, and am very sad to now know if her passing. She made a difference.

My husband & I were so sorry to learn of Lanette's passing. She was a wonderful lady. Our prayers are with all the family. (Lanae, I left you a private message on your Facebook Messenger.)

So sorry to hear this news. I've only know of Lanette through her sister Joanna. I can imagine from reading the tribute that she has the same ability as Joanna to make everyone around her feel like family. She will be missed and remembered.
