James Edward Robinson, Sr., 76, of Old River-Winfree, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 5, 2017 at his home. He was born on March 26, 1941 in York County, South Carolina to Bob and Lola Robinson. After graduating from high school, James proudly served his county in the United States Navy. James and his wife Lois relocated to the Old River-Winfree area in 1986. He worked as a chemical board operator with Bayer in Baytown for 22 years before his retirement. James was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.

James had many hobbies, some of which included guns, shooting sports, old westerns and war movies starring John Wayne and Audie Murphy. He also enjoyed brain teaser puzzles. James was a history buff who enjoyed all history. On family vacations, he would always stop to read the historical markers along the way.

James was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Gerald Robinson; and his sister Barbara Robinson-Heisler. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 31 years Lois “Tuffy” Robinson; his son James “Jimbo” Robinson, Jr. and wife Brandy of Old River-Winfree; his daughter Alicia Hicks and husband Ron of Mont Belvieu; his grandchildren Katelyn Robinson, Aaron Cannon and Zach Jones; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. James will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
