James Leteff, 63, of Dayton, Texas, went to be with his Lord on Friday, February 9, 2018. He was born on May 11, 1954 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. 

James was preceded in death by his parents, Joe, Sr. and Myrtle Leteff; and his three brothers Jimmy, Hubert and Robin Leteff. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Leteff; his daughters Christina Leteff Cross and husband Walter, Jeanetta Leteff, Jamie Leteff and husband Bart; his sons James Leteff, Jr. and wife Jennifer and Jason Leteff; his grandchildren Ethan Cross, Ian Cross, Sharah Havlik, Emily Havlik, Christopher Harrington, Nicolas Smith, Major Leteff, Luke Leteff, Chase Leteff and Dominic Rodriguez; his siblings Betty Chambers, Bobby Leteff, Maude Dickey, Joe Jr. Leteff and wife Joyce, Royce Leteff and wife Linda, Paul Leteff and wife Kathy, Pat Woodson, Roy Leteff, Jo Demann, Bobbie Woolford and Billy Leteff. 

James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He knew everyone and never met a stranger. James was an Evangelist pastor who traveled around the city singing gospel music and preaching to many. He enjoyed taking Vegas trips with his brother, fishing, roller-skating and watching television. James loved to watch sci-fi movies and his favorite television show was Supernatural. His biggest joy and best hobby was his grandchildren and spending time with his family. 

James will be missed by many family and friends. He was a man of God. Everyone who knew him, knew he loved the Lord. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, his extended family and friends with all his heart. 

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Paul Leteff, Joe Chambers, Bart Oddo, Christopher Harrington, Ethan Cross, Charles Farley, Rick Demann and Christopher Woodson. 

Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 10am on Thursday, February 15, 2018 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street, Dayton, Texas. Funeral services will be at 11am immediately following the visitation. A graveside service and committal will be held at 3pm on Thursday, February 15, 2018 in Menard Chapel Cemetery in Livingston, Texas.
