So many memories of my youth were spent at their home, from jumping on the trampoline outside with Sean, to sitting on their couch just to hear them sing, and not just one, but everyone in that house singing. Bro. Harry and Sis. Elsie always welcomed me as if I was one of theirs. They were good friends with my parents for many years, and when I called on them in 2008 to officiate my Dads funeral, there was no hesitation, they were there. These 2 extraordinary souls hold a dear place in my heart, and forever will. My thoughts and prayers are with this family. Love, Abby Coleman Ellis

My parents, Hurshell and Marie Balentine, became friends with Brother McDaniel and Elsie at First Baptist Church, Channelview. A few years later they literally sang him into heaven with "Sweet Beulah Land" as they stood by his bedside. They were kind enough to sing at both my parents funerals and Bro. McDaniel presided over my Dad's service and spoke at my Mother's as well. He was not just a pastor to them but a good friend and I know they were waiting to greet him in Heaven. Please tell your Mother that George and I are praying for your family.
