Elizabeth Pilgreen

Elizabeth Pilgreen, 80, of Dayton, Texas passed away, Thursday, May 25, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 26, 1937 in Hull, Texas to John and Ora Fregia Nugent.

Elizabeth was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and cooking. Elizabeth was an expert shot who enjoyed shooting and fishing with her husband. In her spare time, she loved working on jigsaw puzzles. Elizabeth was also a TV game show junkie and loved to watch Deal or No Deal and Price is Right. She enjoyed crime series shows like NCIS and Criminal Minds.

 Elizabeth loved God and reading scripture. Most recently her best buddie was a little long-hair chihuahua named Toby who she loved dearly. Elizabeth will be missed by all who knew her.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 49 years Prentice Pilgreen; her sisters Marie Hines and Louise Nugent; brothers John Nugent and Ernest Nugent. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son Prentice W. Pilgreen and wife Kelly; her daughters Sherry Pilgreen and Cindy Rhoden and her husband Kirby; her grandchildren Brandy Faneros, Jeffrey Parker, Kerri Bartee and husband John, Crystal St. James and husband Christopher, Paula Harville and husband Darby, Chloe Zielke and husband Shay, Amanda Wright and Sharee Pilgreen; her 16 great-grandchildren; her sister Geraldine Glover and her husband Larry; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers are Kirby Rhoden, Kevin Hales, Mike Burkhall, Kevin Glenn, Jim Shane and Bill Bagwell. Pastor Andy Glenn of Day Spring Church in Liberty, Texas will be officiating.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1pm until 2pm on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street, Dayton, Texas. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 2pm at Sterling Funeral Home. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Palms Memorial Park.
