Charles "Butch" Roy

Charles Edward "Butch" Roy, 70, of Wallisville, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 3, 1947 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Gerald W. and Velma Morgan Roy. Butch graduated from Anahuac High School, class of 1966 and attended Lee College. He worked for many years as a Safety Coordinator before his retirement.

Butch was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He loved his family and had a marriage that most others wanted, always holding his wife Marie’s hand and being her biggest supporter. Butch was always happy and smiling. He was a comedian of sorts, a prankster, and always a jokester even up until his death. Butch enjoyed driving old classic and antique cars which resulted in his brother Mikey always needing to repair. He held a special place in his heart for Lucille, his bossy sister. Also, had a fondness in his heart for all children but especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents Gerald "Shorty" Roy and Velma Morgan Roy.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 35 years, Marie Roy; his children, Sarah Johnston, and husband Jeremy; and Josh Roy and fiancé Jayme Pringle, grandchildren, Jace and Slade Johnston; siblings, Lucille Sherman and husband Billy, Mike Roy, wife Reva, and his closest cousins Eugene and Don Langford as well as a host of other family and friends. Finally, his faithful K-9 companion Brody will miss him dearly.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Eugene Langford, Billy Sherman, Tony Knight, Gene Langford, Dustin Gaudet, Nick Foreman, Jeremy Johnston, Amos Roy and Tanner Cervenka. Honorary pallbearers will be Jace Johnston, Slade Johnston, and Curtis Vaughn.

Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 10am on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main Street, Anahuac, Texas. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11am. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Anahuac Cemetery.
