Barbara Wilson Anding

Barbara Gail Wilson Anding, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at her home, surrounded by family. She was born to Glen and Pearl Wilson on August 28, 1940 in Houston, Texas. Barbara was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Anahuac, where in her earlier years she was a nursery care provider. Barbara was a devout Christian who would start her day with a daily devotional reading, Bible scripture reading and time in prayer. Her love for family could only be surpassed by her love for God.

Barbara had many hobbies some of which included worshipping the Lord, mowing, riding on the Mule (and not the animal), traveling and sightseeing, taking in all the sights of Texas and visiting the Dallas State Fair.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Brenda Anding; granddaughter Samantha Castillo; her nieces Cheryl Reasoner, Donna Varboncouer, Vicki Preston and Lisa Bumpers; nephews Robert (Bobby) Wilson and Leslie Wilson; cousins Laura Pierce, Mary Johnson and Robert McDowell; and her very special friend of eight years Bobby Dockens. She was preceded in death by her husband John Lee Anding; mother Pearl Wilson and father Glenn Wilson; brothers Gilbert, Jerry and Robert Wilson.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Marsha, Kay, Rachel and Doris of Faith Community Hospice for their great medical care and in home care provided by her nieces Cheryl Reasoner, Celisse Reasoner and cousin Laura Pierce.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Dockens, Johnny Reasoner, Jonathan Reasoner, Joshua Reasoner, Brandt Preston and Derek Coronado. Honorary pallbearers will be Celisse Reasoner, Sherri and Fred Redkey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to First Baptist Church of Anahuac, 405 Magnolia Street South, Anahuac, Texas 77514.
