Mike Medina

Mike Medina, 60, of Dayton, Texas went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. Mike was born on March 23, 1953 to parents, Josie and Carlos Medina in Dayton Texas, and he lived there his entire life.  He is preceded in death by his father Carlos Medina.

He is survived by his mother Josie Medina of Dayton, Texas.  brothers; Carlos Medina and wife Cynthia of Porter, Texas and Pete Medina of Baytown, Texas; brother; Mark Medina; sisters; Martina and Eloise Medina, of Blue Springs, Missouri; sons Michael Medina and wife Jodene Medina of Dayton, Texas, Curtis Medina and Delena Medina of Kingwood, Texas, Pete Medina and wife Katelyn Medina of Lafayette, Louisiana; grandchildren Ashton and Alec Medina of Dayton Texas; Diego, Andres, and Layla Medina of Kingwood, Texas; Colton Medina of Lafayette, Louisiana.  He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.

He was an active member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dayton, Texas and member of the Knights of Columbus.  He was an excellent craftsman, handyman, and carpenter.  He enjoyed working on cars, fixing anything broken, and tinkering with anything that was a challenge.  His favorite recreation was fishing on any day that ended with a “Y”.  

We will love you always; son, brother, dad, and Paw Paw.

A visitation with the family will be on Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St., Dayton, Texas.

Funeral Mass for Mike will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 24, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 804 Cleveland St., Dayton, Texas with Father Mike Bu officiating.

Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton, Texas.
