Mamie Evelyn Cox, age 90 of Dayton, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at her residence with her loving family by her side. Mamie was born June 8, 1923 in Popular Creek, MS, daughter of the late Udell and Chloeannie Brown Maharrey. Mamie attended Dayton High School and was a housewife most of her life. She was a jack of all trades, having expert knowledge in plumbing and electrical. She was very proud of raising over 120 head of cattle by herself. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all.
Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, husband; John “ Beau” Bradburn Cox, son; Douglas Cox, and brother; E.L. Tucker. She leaves behind to cherish her memory his daughter; JoAnn Shipman of Dayton, TX, grandsons; Rob Flurry of Beaumont, TX, Tobyn Cox of Dayton, TX, granddaughter; Toya Cox, great-grandchildren; Terry Flurry, J.C. Martin, Jessy Martin, Kayleigh Jenkins and Aaron Jenkins.
